First day of work

Today was my first day working with the Cook County judge. oooo. A grown up job! Here I am in my suite:

I spent the day sitting in on hearings, reading and reviewing an opinion, attending "orientation," and just talking to the judge. It was a nice, low key start to my job. I really like the judge that I work for and everyone else seems really nice and helpful too. So, a good start.

Oh AND we're on the 28th floor! Great view!

I Think I'm Learning...

I want to be a part of this, so... I think I'm learning how to blog and comment. Sounds like a dance. Hmmm, I can dance! But I digress. Not really a post except to see if I can do this. I love that I am being challenged to keep up. And I challenge you to never let me go "stale". From my latest adventure I've learned to never give up and to live every day with new curiosity. One is never too old or smart to learn...

Rosie visits the windy city!

That's right! Rosie visited the w i n d y city this weekend and I got to meet up with her! We met up at Carmine's for some yummy Italian and good company. It was great to see her on my turf and catch up a little bit! Her friend took a picture, so when I get a hold of it, I'll be sure to post on here as well!
Can't wait for others to come visit too! (Mike and Erin are coming next weekend!) All are welcome!

Hard work pays off!!

I got myself a FIRST SHIFT position!! I get to start on April 7th, bright and early. This means I get to see my wonderful husband again :) It took a little bit, not as long as some, but I got there...

waiting for the train...

While waiting for the subway today, the resident street/subway musician started performing "Sweet Caroline." Needless to say, tears welled up in my eyes as I thought of our sweet Caroline and her little sister and her wonderful parents. As I blinked away tears, I thought of us, arms around Elizabeth and Joe, at Michael and Erin's wedding. I thought about how the meaning of that song has forever been transformed in my heart to mean the love and strength of family during hard times. I should have given that musician 20 bucks or something, for reminding me of the constant love and support we all have in this Musil clan.

California Love

hello everybody!!!

this is great because now i can update everyone from all the way out here =)

everything is great, i am moving to burbank next week and i am really excited.

it's a really good neighborhood and it's right by warner brothers studios.

it's a bit more expensive, but you win some and you lose some, right?

i took this picture at venice beach about a week ago. i love it, so if you were wondering why i moved to california, that should answer your question.

i think i am going to try to get a new job at a hotel and move my way up to management.

i have an interview tomorrow (march 26th) so we'll see how it goes.

other than that, i've just been laying low, saving for my new apartment.

Hello WONDERFUL Family!

We're back in Chicago! We made it safely. Thank you thank you thank you for the love you showed us on Easter. We felt so loved and blessed that you guys took up a collection so we could stay. =) We had such a wonderful time. It was so great to just be with you guys. We love you so much!
